Where Art Takes Root
Part of a yearlong celebration of Rosemont's 70th anniversary
The Village of Rosemont is proud to announce a new public art initiative titled “Rosemont in Bloom: Where Art Takes Root.” The project will feature 20 eight-foot rose sculptures, each uniquely painted by a different local professional artist, school art program or nonprofit arts
When
Set to debut this fall, Rosemont in Bloom will transform Rosemont into an open-air gallery, inviting residents and visitors to explore the community through a colorful “seek-and-find” experience that celebrates creativity, local talent and civic pride. Installation locations for the sculptures will be announced at a later date.
Why
“Rosemont has always been a community that invests in experiences that bring people together, and this project is a perfect reflection of that,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “As we celebrate 70 years, Rosemont in Bloom will showcase incredible artistic talent while creating a fun and engaging way for residents and visitors to explore our village.”
How
Each sculpture will be delivered to its participating artist or organization in the coming weeks, with artists beginning the creative process this spring and summer ahead of the public unveiling this fall.
